1936 Gibson A-50 #563B-1

1936 Gibson A-50 mandolin # 563B-1.  Excellent original condition. Features include spruce top with “f” holes, maple back and sides, 10 1/4 inch bout, tone bar bracing, single-bound top and back, 13 7/8 inch scale, unbound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, neck joins body at 12th fret, silkscreen “Gibson” logo, tortoise shell colored acetate pickguard (with small area of decline arrested with super-glue), small adjustable bridge, stamped “The Gibson” tailpiece, bone nut, square-end tuner plates.  Having had the benefit of a recent Randy Wood set up, this mandolin is in perfect playing condition (no warpage, sinkage, cracks or other flaws often seen in instruments of this age) and has a bright lively sound with plenty of volume.  This is much more than an entry level mandolin, it compares well with many modern instruments at twice the price.  $1550 includes new hardshell case and free shipping in continental US and shared cost to selected destinations overseas.
